The Ace Gate Plays the Ace for a Win in CC Emerald

CC Emerald
1 1/16 Mile Turf Stake Purse $175.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

Well, the claiming championships were certainly exciting for the viewers but not so much fun for the punters as the results seem to take on a will of their own as the day went on, here is how the top four finished the CC Emerald:

1st X Marque Lendroit Asgar Landeros C 1:39.43

Well in the lead up to this race, this horse had run 7th, 9th and 8th in lower grade so it was no wonder he started at long odds, tenth in this race last year after a much better lead up, he must be one of the most inconsistent horses in training but today he saved his big win for the right time. His works have been really strong so his form must’ve been pretty frustrating for his trainer but today all will be forgiven as he took home the CC Emerald. Traveling just behind the speed he quickened up sweetly and won like a horse that had won his last three rather than the opposite.

2nd Mr Toxic Spankys Barn Santana R Jr 1:39.58

This five-year-old entire had taken on some of the best in his last two but the draw was going to cause him problems against these lesser lights and though he ran home really nicely to be second he never quite looked like he was going to get close enough to the winner. He may have taken a while to break his maiden, but he has certainly gone the right way since and looks a genuine stakes horse now and a winner in waiting.

3rd Off Gold Asgar Cohen D 1:39.59

This was a tough race so to get first and third was a great achievement for the owner. This one stalked the lead and kept on gamely to hold third less than a length off the stable mate and winner. Far more consistent than the winner he seems to be getting to his best now and as a three-year-old has plenty of time to win good races.

4th High Tide The Sidley Stud Jara F 1:39.71

Went hard from the wider gate and worked really hard to keep the pedal to the metal for a lot of the race. In the end he kept on really well although it was obvious the effort was telling and ended up a close fourth. This was a good effort, and he ran his best race today.
