KEE Race #6 1 1/16m Dirt Graded Stake
Purse $400.000 For Fillies Two Years Old.

One of the premier qualifiers for the BC Juvenile Fillies the winner of this race could well end up favorite for the big one. Pretty much any one of these runners has the pedigree and form to win so it looks like we re in for a great race. Here is how they line up.

1      In Amongst The Wreck       Jive Inc     . Moran D

The stables juveniles have started performing and this one looks well placed here from a good draw to take their season even further. I must admit she hasn’t looked like a router in her four races to date but from this ground saving draw she may just last this trip. A good third in the Spinaway and fourth in the Schuylerville previously she certainly has the class if the trainer and jockey can save something for the end.

2       Bella Chica    Mb Stables       Bridgmohan S X

You have to win a big ticket maiden to get in these races then you have to rely on the luck of the draw and this stable knows just how to do that. This one gets the draw everyone wants and was a very strong CD maiden winner last time running on like this trip would be right up her alley. The works are strong, the win was strong and the jockey is certainly in form so this well bred filly will be favored by many.

3      Present Tense      Mb Stables          Cedillo A

Already a winner of three and two stakes races this is another from the champion trainer that is drawn well and will look to put the foot on the throat of the BC even more for the owner.She was just beaten in the FL Stakes My Dear last time over this trip and is one of the best workers in the field. If ever there was a chance of another clean sweep for the stable then this race is it.

4       Bla Bla Bla         Night Rider Stables        Castellano J J

The daughter of Hardline deserves a shot here after her good second in the Gimma last time where she finished really well over the seven furlongs suggesting that this trip will really suit her. Not much to go on form ways but it looks like she will be coming late and strong and if the race is run true she could get into it at the end.

5       Local Model          First Class Stable         Garcia Mar

A winner of her last two at allowance level she gets her chance here to make the BC and doesn’t look out of place. It is tough to follow up a maiden win at this time of the year and she did it very nicely at PRX last time. Her stamina must be taken on trust but she is certainly here with a hope.

6       Kent         Smokey Stover         Jaramillo E

Third in The Sorrento last time that race came 5 months after her debut so she is entitled to improve. The stable is on fire at the moment, especially with their fillies and her works are showing that she will have come on for that run.

7      Intrinsic Intensity        Acber Farms      Geroux F

Followed up her maiden win by dead heating in the ELP Debutante she has never been favored by the draw but has still managed two wins from three starts. She is likely to come from off the pace so the gate will suit and there is no reason why she wont be a contender at the sharp end.

8     Keno Queen       Mb Stables          Gaffalione T

The third stable runner and what a strong hand they have again. She won her maiden and then the Astoria but has since been contesting at the highest level, running well but without the win hoped for. She gets her final chance here and really wont have to improve much to be in contention. The drawback is that she has had a very busy few months and only raced a couple of weeks ago in the Pocahontas so may find this race comes a bit soon. A winning chance if she can cope with the quick turnaround.

9      Chopstick         Aer Stables          Pennington F

The stable has been quieter this year but still carries some clout with their young horses. Beaten by Keno Queen in the Astoria she then beat that filly a couple of weeks ago in the Pocahontas when third just a smidgen ahead of the MB Stables runner. Another that never seems to get luck with the draw she could well be the one to look for late.

10       Moment To Dream     Fractious        Velazquez J R

Already BC bound she took out the grade one DMR Debutante last time and comes here looking for another big win. She battled really gamely to hold on by a nose at DMR but she was favorably drawn that day and gets out wide today. She will need to step up again but three top efforts in graded stakes company she must be respected.

11       Nostromo          Jive Inc.           Sanchez M J

Out of the three coming out of the Pocahontas she actually ran best in finishing second and did that from a horrible draw. She gets no favors again here which is a shame because she deserved a break. Certainly in the mix she will need things to go right to win from here.

13      New Day Rising        Nakamura Stables        Carrasco V R

Gets in thanks to a scratch and i would say looks outclassed in tough field from the car park. Having said that with the Nak factor working for her who knows!

SUMMARY

A really tough race to call, it would seem safest to break this down into the three big guns when it comes to juveniles this year. Mb Stables has three good chances and Smokey Stovers single runner looks strong. Jive has hit their straps recently and they have two good chance and a grade one winner in the race so respect must be given there too. I think i will go with the draw though and reckon there is a one two for Mb here with Present Tense and Bella Chica.
