1 I Am Zeus John Henry Alvarado J 120 —
Bought after a close second in a decent DMR optional claimer he was put straight in the deep end by the new owner and ran well for a long way in the Pilgrim before weakening into sixth. A better draw will help today, and he will be a contender.
2 U Vill Eat Z Bugz TwinTowersRacing Davis D 120 —
The name makes me laugh, the form not so much. Working well though so his disappointing effort at FE last time may have been the wide draw so he must be given a second chance from this great gate today.
3 Rogue Niagra Laga Lagastable Kocakaya G 120 —
An easy winner of a free track sprint in the wet last time it is not exactly a great pointer for a pay stakes race over a mile, but his recent SAR work says he may be better than that, today we find out.
4 Asset King Nakamura Stables Velazquez J R 120 —
Very consistent in good maidens he broke through at PRX last time and has worked well since. The trip is a mystery to all of us but if he improves for it, he could be very competitive.
5 Pretty Boy Floyd Big Jd Racing Carmouche K 120 —
Won a maiden claimer last time but it is not that that interest me it is the 1.35 and 1 mile work he put up last time. PRX works can be a little volatile throwing some ridiculously fast work times so I am wary of it, but if he can run to that sort of work, he is a winning chance.
6 Blaze All Williams9 Franco M 120 —
The stable is on a high with their juveniles this year and after a good allowance win when upped in trip and changed to turf, I expected this one to do better than the eventual ninth in the Pilgrim last time. A failure twice in stakes races now he has something to prove today.
7 Categorical Vow Asgar Lezcano J 120 —
Sixth in a free track allowance to second in the Simcoe and third in the Cup and Saucer last time, sometimes form at HRP can be impossible to read! Another that has worked a 1.35 and 1 for the turf mile and from and in form stable he is a definite win chance.
8 Hot Bbq Luz International Luzzi L J 120 —
Twice a winner and showed he has the stamina for this trip last time with a game win. Looks good enough to be highly competitive in his first go at black type.
9 Drawing A Line Barcelona Farms Ruiz Jo 120 —
Steps up in trip after only a fair effort on the Indian Summer last time, I do like this stable in these juvenile turf races, but he will have to find a way round the car park draw to get his second win.
SUMMARY
A competitive little race I am going with two that have fast mile work times in Categorical Vow and Pretty Boy Floyd. Nothing is out of this race though so it will be very competitive.
