1  Huzza                 Blushing Meadows   Leparoux J R

You have to love the way this filly wins her races, especially the last two but as always late runs at HRP can be fraught with Traffic danger and she will need just a bit of luck to make it four wins in a row.  She has yet to tackle this trip so that has to be taken on trust but i would love to see her breaking through a pocket and sprinting home down the stretch. Her works arent the strongest but that hasnt mattered so much with the juveniles this season so i wouldnt worry too much about that and her win in the Adirondack was good enough to put her right in this race.

2  Guepard Rose    Gdp Inc                 Roman E A

Won her maiden on debut at PRX but failed in her next two when tried at a higher level. She took her second win at DMR las time out and whilst she is a nice filly she does look a bit out of her depth today.

3  Dali The Viking    Smokey Stover    Arroyo N Jr

Smokey Stover paid a good price to tempt her away from Hawaiian Shirt Guy but she remained a maiden after three starts and was starting to look a bit like a morning glory. She finally got off the mark in her last start winning a competitive maiden at ELP and it could have been the step up in trip that brought about the change in fortune. She stayed a mile in the slop pretty well that day and a 1.37 and 2 work recently suggests she will keep getting better the further she goes.

4  Sharp Suit    Rampage Stable    Rosario J

Two good maiden races with an all the way win over five furlongs in her second start were put behind her when she stepped up in the Sorrento Stakes last time out and mowed them down with a huge late run. She ended up winning pretty easily in the end and is another with a 1.367 and 2 work suggesting she will only get better as she stretches out.

5  Spicy Poke    Night Rider Stables   Baze T C

Showed lots of pace in her three maiden starts winning at the third attempt. In her last start she was right in the Sorrento Stakes until the winner swept by and in the end finished a good third. She no doubt has ability but i am not convinced this trip will suit unless her trainer can conserve some of her energy for the end of the race.

6  Letting Go    Team 7 Illusions    Nakatani C S

Stretched out nicely for her maiden win but has failed twice since and its hard to give her a winning chance in this race. Her trainer and the sire have been in good form though and a win wouldnt be off the cards.

7  Distorted Express   D J C Racing Stables   Sanchez M J

Despite two starts over a quarter mile back in the Spring she has looked like a decent trip would be right up her street. Bought by the two year old trainer of the moment she may be the dark horse here now she faces a longer race. She ran ver well in the Schuylerville when running from a wide draw she was taken right out of the race ony to finish very fast to be seventh beaten just a length. That start would give her her best chance today.

8  Book Of Aggravation   Estero Farms    Lanerie C J

She has taken a while to clear maidens but did so over this trip last time out and is one of the few that is guaranteed to get this distance. She stalked the lead that day and had plenty left at the end and may turn out to be one of the top picks to win this race.

9  Queen Kelsie Killer   Jive Inc.    Prat F

The winner of two races she ran well enough in the DMR Debutante to suggest this sort of race is not out of her reach. She will have to cope with a difficult draw and as long as she isnt sacrificed as the leader she should be thereabouts at the end.

10  Blazing By    Mb Stables    Saez L

Its a real challenge being drawn ten of ten in this sort of race but she coped with 11 of 12 to win the Debutante very easily and was all kinds of good when taking the DMR Debutante in her last start. Her last work suggests she is ready to beat the draw and become the stables main hope in the BC.

SUMMARY

Though the wide draw makes it tough its clear to me that Blazing By is the best filly in the race despite being beaten in the Sorrento Stakes by Sharp Suit and Spicy Poke. Those three should again be in contention here but i am going to go for two very different horses as my picks for first and second. I think Book Of Aggravation may improve again and be a danger and i just loved the way Huzza won her last start so they are my choices.
