This four year old has been a consistent performer at this level and at this trip and gets a great draw to work with as long as she can get to her preferred position over the wide gates. She led all the way to win the Bessarabian Stakes last year and the Fritchie Stakes this year but has been less successful when ridden from further back. Her works are strong and she gets a great draw for a soft lead so there are plenty of positives.

2 Wbf No Regrets TwinTowersRacing Tunon M

Stalked the leader to win the Distaff handicap over this trip last time out and gets the perfect draw to do the same again here. The start will be crucial but if she gets in position A she will be right in at the finish.

3 Eros Smokey Stover Velazquez J R

The winner of the Bc Fillies and Mares Sprint over this trip last year she has failed in both her starts this year and has been a little disappointing. She has always been inconsistent though and at her best will be tough to beat.

4 Drunken Commander Aer Stables Bridgmohan S X

In true HRP style here we have a dual claiming winner that is working like a stakes winner. She shouldn’t be a factor but she could just as easily be the winner.

5 Unprecedented South Beach Racing Centeno D E

She has done well in stakes sprints without breaking through and i can’t see that changing here.

6 First Impression Mb Stables Beschizza A

The winner of the TC Of America last year and a fine second in the BC Fillies and mares sprint she started the year off really well in winning the Santa Monica but was a bit disappointing in the Vinery Maddison last time when third. A winning chance.

7 Truly Deeply Madly Jive Inc. Espinoza V

She has been promising for some time but has certainly stepped up this year and was a great second in the Vinery Maddison last time advertising her chances in a race like this. The draw may be tough but she likes to go up on the pace so it may actually be an advantage.

8 Grayte Crack Estero Farms Bejarano R

The three best horses in this race are drawn in the three wide gates so it should be an interesting tactical race. This consistent performer took the Inside Information in seasonal debut from a similar draw and was then a good fourth in the Beholder last time in the mud. If the Wide draw AI is kind she could be a big chance.

SUMMARY

These races tend to be difficult to read as one result is seldom like another so its hard to settle on one outright winner. I think Grayte Crack will be a chance but that depends more on the AI than her ability and that’s pretty true of Truly Madly Deeply as well. Of the better drawn horses Eros looks best but she can be brilliant or ordinary so its a risk.
