This horse certainly seems to have a handle on the new race engine taking his second stakes race of the year after out battling the early leader by the barest of margins. Sixth in the BC Dirt Mile last year if his form continues, I see no reason why he won’t better that this year especially when you consider he was one from ten last year and two from two already this year.

An on-pace type anyway there was no surprises here as the wide gate saw him go to the lead from the gate. The biggest problem was just how fast he had to go to maintain his advantage and that was always going to leave him vulnerable at the end. As it was, he very nearly lasted, and it would’ve been a very brave win but a couple of hundredths of a second do not diminish his efforts and he can be proud of this run for second.

3rd Positive Id Gdp Inc Ferrer J C

Took plan B from the wide gate and whilst the pace was strong enough to give him a chance of catching up, we aren’t seeing that speed of closing we used to, and he never looked likely to catch the first two. Still, this was a great effort from a bad gate, although I can’t help noticing that the times he has made the running he has won and maybe Plan A from the wide gate was the better option. That may or may not have been anything to do with the trainer who may or may not have asked the jockey to go back but either way his future still looks to have some black type glory in it.

4th All Take Alydar Stables Dettori L

Kept on really well for fourth and i have this one noted as a very under rated type who may just click one day and become a big race winner.
