3 AQU The Notebook
$100.000 2yo Foaled in NY 6f Dirt 120lbs +penalties
Talk about a close finish… a bit more than a length from first to worst, but when the dust settled in Sunday’s The Notebook, a six furlong NY-bred dash for the youngsters, The Greek got the job done in 1:09.71, winning by a neck. Hysterically Funny, dismissed as the 16/1 outside gave the winner all he wanted and settled for the second spot, taking a four-horse photo that showed Proxy in third and Sir Lord Devastator in fourth, Lake Dipper getting left out of the paychecks by a couple of noses.
The Greek is a 2yo bay gelded son of Commanding The Storm – Greek Princess, by Blow Me Away, and he was bred by his owner, Arindel, here in NY. This was his second win from three starts, his first stakes score, and he now has earnings of $98.120. Congrats to the connections!
