1 Summer Colors Maxmillion Farm Cedillo A 122

The stable will need to buy the draw monster a drink because they get inside draws for all three runners here. The first of them is this maiden that certainly isn’t working like a maiden despite three attempts for no wins so far. The key to her chances will be the mile, as she has looked a little outpaced in the three sprints she has run so far and may have been waiting for a trip like this. Maybe one to spice up the exotic bets.

2 Terabyte Lady Maxmillion Farm Gutierrez Mario 122

The second runner from the yard, she has also had three starts, but she has won one of them when making all in an SAR State bred last time. Clearly a decent sort, she gets a great draw and may well be one of the three to go on speed as she looked good making all last time. I am not sure she is the best of the three runners, though; however, the step up to the mile may prove to be the big question mark.

3 State Title Team 7 Illusions Corrales G 122

Won on debut and then tried hard in the Sanford when finishing third after making the running. Both her runs so far have been on the dirt, but going on her works the turf may well see some improvement, and if it does, then this is a winning chance for sure.

4 Bla Dee Blaa Maxmillion Farm Gallardo A A 122

Another maiden that is stepping up in trip, she has shown in her works that she will be improved by the mile, but it is hard to know with her two efforts in races so far. I am sure she will run better today, but she certainly has to come up with something to back up her works to prove herself more than a morning glory.

5 Grand Concourse TwinTowersRacing Bravo J 122

Won her maiden on the third attempt on the dirt, but has worked pretty well on the turf, so I think she may be one of those that can go on both surfaces. I like the way she won that SAR maiden over a shorter trip, and she could well be a value bet for this race.

6 Defy Expectations Aer Stables Eramia R E 122

Walked home in a canter last time when dropping right down the grades to break her maiden at LAD. She is one of the few that is proven over longer trips, and she is working right in the same pocket as all the others, so it is just a matter of which one steps up today, and the ability to run the mile may be a big factor in her favor.

7 Rowena Williams9 Moran D 122

Proven in stakes company when a good second from a wide draw last time, she won her maiden over seven furlongs the time before that, so has two ticks in her boxes as far as a race like this goes. Certainly, better on the grass, her experience may turn out to be key.

8 Evacuate Mo Mentum Farm Garcia Mar 122

A winner at lowly BTP on debut, she then took on an allowance at ELP last time and made nice ground to finish sixth over a trip that may have been too short. Her works are strong, so I think she may be much improved over this mile—but that could easily be said about most of the runners here.

9 Rulers Rolls Mb Stables Pennington F 122

Some horses seem to get more bad draws than others for some reason, and this filly is facing her third wide draw in a row. A closer over shorter trips, you’d think she would relish this mile—but that isn’t always how the visuals of this race engine play out, so that alone isn’t enough. She was flying home in the Tah Dah last time in an eye-catching effort, and her works fall into the same category as the rest, so she must be given a winning chance.

10 Tiffy T – Alydar Stables – Hernandez R M – 122 A free-track maiden winner, she has since run two fair efforts in better company, most notably in the ELP Debutante last time out. Her turf works look strong, so this surface switch may be key to unlocking further improvement.

11 Goal Scorer – Onlineracingclub.com – Rodriguez A R – 122 Won nicely on debut and then did well to close strongly in an allowance last time. However, she faces a tough challenge here from a very difficult draw, which could limit her chances.

12 Mexican Asset – Rock Creek – Husbands P – 122 Has been competing in much lower grades than this but was hugely impressive last time in a LAD maiden. The fact that it was over seven and a half furlongs and on this surface are definitely positive. Still, the draw makes this a tough step up, and it may come a bit too soon for her.

SUMMARY

In a race like this, it is tough to be confident about any runner, but the one I like here is Tiffy T, who may be greatly improved by this surface.
