On the state bred circuits all year she has run some nice races and gets a nice draw here to try and get a little end of season cash. Her win in the LA Legends Distaff gets her a penalty here and whilst that win was on turf she has run well enough in her last two to suggest she can act on the dirt. Up on the pace in her last two she failed to get home over less distance so she may need to be held up a bit longer to get home here.

Another carrying a penalty hers was for a win in the Magnolia when she got home by a head over the mile. She likes to come from off the pace and gets a good draw to do that today without going too far back. She is used to running with the penalty but was behind Queen Cake in the Magnolia so she does have a bit to find.

A very consistent filly she gets a weight break here and that may be enough to see her gain some reward. She has run some solid races at this grade and this trip may end up suiting her.

4       Fontenot          Nynl Stables        Geroux F       121

She has been on the turf for a vast majority of her career but was switched to the dirt last time out and was a very impressive allowance winner at FL. Unexposed in this company and also one that runs with weight breaks she may well be the pick in a tough field of very even horses.

5       Makita           The Sidley Stud          Beschizza A       123

Another real solid type she has been consistent all year. My biggest fear for her is the trip and she hasn’t looked too strong at the end of her races but this is an open race and she has enough about her to put her in it.

6   Country Mission       Allinthegate       Saez G      125

Possibly the best or at least most accomplished mare in the race she has won 15 of her 35 starts. She gets a weight penalty and the wide draw which certainly brings her back into the pack. The other big thing to consider is that 34 of her 35 starts have been in sprints so this trip is completely new territory and you have to take her ability to stay it on trust.

SUMMARY

Country Mission is possibly the best here but there are a few things against her and she will do very well to confirm her superiority in this race. I am going for Lightning Link to take this as she is unexposed in this company and may just have the edge.
