1 Di Farley Gdp Inc Ortiz I Jr
With all the three year olds concentrating on the TC chase at this time of the year a true three year old sprinter can get some success and here we see a prime example of a soft race for $200.000. Although this one has yet to achieve anything close to this grade he has been running nicely in overnights and gets his chance over his favoured trip. A game allowance winner last time out he has three wins from eight and more significantly turned in a swift 1.01 and 1 works a week or so ago. That work puts him right in this and says he is ready to step up.
2 Rothstein John Henry Bejarano R
He has been running well over longer trips but won his only race sprinting and looks versatile enough to get into this race today. Bought for $60.000 after a turf campaign for Barcelona Farms he has done well for his new owner collevcting cheques in three ungraded stakes so far this year. I think he will go well over the 6 today and a good work last out suggests that is the case.
3 Delta Storm D J C Racing Stables Velazquez J R
Had his chance at the TC but failed pretty badly he ran well enough in the NY stallion Series last out to suggest he can sprint a bit. His works are in the ball park but i do feel he is a bit more exposed than some of the others. A winner of 2 from 8 he wont mind it of the rain comes.
4 Whistling Woods Keikowin Racing Smith M E
Took a while to break his maidens but now he has he looks to be improving quickly. He was very impressive in the mud last time out taking a one win allowance at LS and whilst that is a long way from this race he may be improving quicker than normal. I like his chances very much if the track comes up wet.
5 Hard To Deny Mb Stables Albarado R J
Not a bad sort but finds an awkward draw and a few improvers that may see him battling for a place only. He looks suited by this trip though and Mb Stables could wave his magic wand and see him through.
SUMMARY
I rather like the look of Whistling Woods in this as long as he can keep close enough in the early stages. If he doesnt then Di Farley or Delta Storm may be the ones to fight it out.
