The Law Doesn’t Apply in ELP Debutante

ELP Debutante
7 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $150.000 Filly 2 Year Olds.

1st Lawbreaker Diablo Diablo Garcia Mar

She was the one with the stakes form and in the end her class just prevailed in a driving finish. Racing in a better position early on than she did in the Debutante she produced another strong finish to claim this race by a neck and certainly looks the type to be even better as she is stretched out further. Bred by the trainer and standing at only 15.1hh she is a testament that size means nothing as others hold onto their smaller two-year-olds waiting for them to grow. This was her fifth start since she started on the 2nd of April, and she clearly loves her racing despite her small stature.

2nd Gospel Team 7 Illusions Corrales G

I had this one down as a bit special, but her race was lost out of the gate as she failed to use her perfect draw and got lost in behind runners. When the gaps came, she ran on really strongly and may well have won with a bit further to go so my opinion of her remains the same. Another that stands at only 15.1hh it certainly seems that size doesn’t mean that they cannot run well at this level despite still being in early grow mode.

3rd Lil Sunshine Threshold Smith M E

Used the wide gate to find the lead and whilst she looked a few times like she would get swamped she never stopped trying and was a very game third. Another day and a better draw and who knows.

4th Sled Fractious Geroux F

Stalked the leader but didn’t find enough under the drive and ended up just behind the first three. This was a fair effort but as race favorite she may have been expected to do a little better.
