1 Nolo Contenders – Riggins Racing

Hasn’t finished worse than third this year, including a win in the Vagrancy Handicap and a second last start in the Bed o Roses Handicap. Can come from off the pace or stalk. One to watch.

2 Lorient – TwinTowersRacing

Scored an allowance win in March on turf but hasn’t hit the board in graded company in 2023. Will have to wait and see on this filly.

3 Lady Sammyantha – The Sidley Stud

Won the Chicago last out at 7 furlongs. She has been competitive at this distance with a second in the Santa Maria Stakes and the Distaff Handicap. Should have a say in this one.

4 Drink me Pretty – Mb Stables

Won the Santa Maria Stakes two starts back. Has been solid in graded company all year until her last start in the Phipps. Still looks competitive in this field, and a win wouldn’t be a surprise.

5 Matamata – Smokey Stover

Won the Phipps last out and the Azeri BC three back to put a bookend on a three graded stake winning streak that included the Rampart and the Bayakoa. Looks like the one to beat.

6 Shining Moment – RNP Stables

Won the Apple Blossom Handicap in April and followed that up with a third in the Phipps and a second in the DEL Handicap. Likes to come from behind, so she’ll need a good trip. If she gets it, she will be tough.

7 American Sky – Iolaus Racing

Second by a head in the Apple Blossom Handicap after winning an optional claimer at SA. Last out was a second in the Shawnee. Another one with a strong shot at a piece of the purse.
