1 Captain Jackman Allinthegate Castillo I 122 —

After winning two from two at the start of this one’s career, he has since been tested in good company and for the most part performed pretty well. His last two runs have been over ground, but he comes back to sprinting today which saw him pick up a paycheck in two similar races last year. I like him back in trip and he could be a good outside/inside bet.

2 Family Fun La Canada Racehorses Davis D 122 —

Took his maiden after a few goes but has mainly been running over longer trips, so isn’t easy to judge on form. But lest face it, form can mean very little especially when this gelding is working 1.10 and 3’s over this trip pretty consistently. A good draw and a good jockey booking, I think this is a real win chance.

3 Admiral Knight Maxmillion Farm Lezcano J 122 —

Two runs, one win and very good work times add up to a great chance from a barrier than will work nicely. His early pace has been an issue that he has overcome, but this is a better field than he has faced before, and he will have to be smarter today.

4 Red Bull D J C Racing Stables Worrie A S 122 —

Two from three and strong works make him a good chance in this line up. The stable is having a good start to the year, and it will be interesting to see how this one races on a dry track as his last two starts have been in the mud. Definite chances in an open field.

5 Mutiny For A Dime Asgar Silvera Ru 122 —

Broke his maiden over a mile and his early pace may be a problem here. If they fly off like greyhounds, then he may get his chance late on, but that is down to the race engine not anything we can control. Decent enough chance if things go right.

6 Lightning Smokey Stover Hernandez R M 122 —

Hated the wet track last time, but his previous start he very nearly won the NY Stallion Series – Great White Way, so must be respected here. The stable doesn’t really have bad horses, so this one will have plenty of support and should be one of the favorites to win.

7 Capitaliste Jerry Garcia Racing Luzzi L J 122 —

Disappointed in the Gander last time over the mile and comes back in trip to try and find his best form today. His running style has been a problem as he seems to lack early pace and we may see the trainer click the gaming button today. If he gets some of the wide gate speed push and sets up a lead we may see a different horse.

8 Built By Hamilton First Flight Stable Carmouche K 122 —

Consistent and has shown early speed, so this could be the one to get on pace and from there he may have his best chance. Consistent enough, but I will need to see more from him to consider him a winner.

9 Tulsa Time Fractious Franco M 122 —

The stable with the Midas touch draws the outside which is interesting with a horse where the gaming buttons have been pressed a few times before. Led all the way to win a seven-furlong allowance but was then turned into a closer for his next two. Tactics will be key to his chances, but this stables horses have been finding the right run at the right time this year, so I wouldn’t want to bet against him.

SUMMARY

Tulsa Time will be a big chance here but needs the race engine to play the game. A safer bet may come inside him but there are three or four chances from those inside gates, so it is hard to settle on one.
