On a track where being on speed is almost essential to winning this one got the perfect spot stalking the leader off a strong pace but not trying to compete early. Moving up at halfway the filly got the front at the right time and then kept o really gamely for the win. This now makes three in a row for this ultra consistent filly and although she has averaged more than one race a month for this whole season she still seems to be able to retain a freshness which other horses that were campaigned early have not. This was the biggest win of her life so far and the way she saw it out it wont be her last win for she clearly has that heart line in her code which is so essential.

2nd Queen Mother Wood Duck Stables Ruiz Jo

A slight change of tactics saw her a little further back today and it certainly worked with an improved effort and very nearly a win. Another consistent type who looks to be hitting her improvement curve hard she looks to be a good $50 buy and with this her third graded stakes placing in a row it is only a matter of time before she gets one.

3rd Bronze Freak Asgar Hernandez R M

Drew wide and went back either by a race engine default or by the trainers instructions. Either way she stormed home really strongly and certainly looks a better finisher as a closer than an on pace sort. That may be wishful thinking as she was a brilliant third in the KYO from on the pace so it may be that today she was just third best whichever way she was ridden.

4th Paris Pinnacle Party Mb Stables Velazquez J R

Led early and went a shade too fast getting clear of her field quickly but paying that price later on. The I part of AI certainly failed her on that score but this was a strong race and she didn’t do bad to be fourth whatever the reason.
