1st        Amy Is Shameful        La Canada Racehorses    Beschizza A

Last time out this one was beaten far and square by Changing Times after going to the lead and then weakening late. Today she got the stalk and was too strong in the final furlong running out a comfortable three quarter length winner. She has been really consistent this year and certainly deserved the win and with these sprint races tending to be a bit of a lottery of trips and small details everything certainly played out to plan for her today. By the dirt router Majestical, a son of Commanding this is by far his best offspring out of a fairly good stud book and who would have thought looking at that pedigree that she would be a top juvenile sprinter. Her Dam was pretty terrible on the race track with her sire only winning one race at a route trip and like the sire this is by far her best off spring in fact it is the only one to win over fifty bucks.
So whilst the breeding isn’t what you would expect it shouldn’t be over looked that this was was bred by the trainer and that is always a big thrill in the breeders Cup. Congratulations to la Canada Racehorses who was gaining only their second BC win.

2nd      Changing Times         D J C Racing Stables       Ryan S

Beat the winner just a month ago but today was just a little closer to the speed than he was that day and that may have been the difference as very often the differences in these results is very subtle. This is a very good sprinter make no mistake and i am pretty sure he will be around a while and will have plenty of time to pick up a graded sprint or two. Like the winner he was bred by his owner being out of Moment In Time who never ran on turf but did win a sprint stakes race. His Dam was a terrible racehorse but is by Mr Creepy so brought some attractive lines into the shed.

3rd      Pride In The Ride         Asgar            Lezcano J

Ran the race of his life from gate 13. He got the rub of the race engine and managed to run a good spot albeit a bit wide and kept on really bravely for third. This was a great story for the owner who bought this for just $4 pre race and has now taken home more than $250 in prize money. Another by a sire that was better known as a long distance type he is out of a Commanding mare so looks like he will do well over a bit further as he grows.

4th           Sharkamaulu         Arindel         Garcia Mar

Stuck on for fourth from the inside gate for a decent run without really setting the house on fire.

Of the others the race favorite One Bay was a bit of a no show which was strange considering she made all to win the Matron in similar splits and yet today she started slowly and got lost in the third group.
