1st Bold Intruder The Sidley Stud Hernandez R M

Class told here in both the horse and the trainer’s case and The Sidley Stud took another stakes race in what has become a remarkable season for the veteran trainer. This race was a case of who would appreciate the mile the most and this one absolutely lapped up the 8 furlongs pulling away for a very easy win. Bought for just $8.000 he traveled just behind the strong pace and was always going easily and once an inch of rein was let out, he strode clear for an impressive win. I think we will see plenty of this one over longer trips and he may even turn out to be a contender in those early KYD prep races.

2nd Mastery D J C Racing Stables Husbands P

Went way back off the strong early pace and flew home for second but the winner had already won the race by the time he was in second. This was a nice effort by the outsider in the field.

3rd Average American Family Racing Pennington F

Much better than he was in his last start, this third place will be a welcome relief after his last-place finish in the Pharaoh last time. Having said that, he was never a winning chance and may need a bit more time before he can be a serious contender in this grade.

4th Ka Holo First Flight Stable Jimenez A

Got a long way back and ran on for fourth but until he can do something about that early pace he may struggle to get further than he has so far. It may have been the mile that saw the race engine push him back as that can sometimes happen with sprinters taking on longer trips here at HRP so maybe a couple of furlongs less we see the best of him.
