Rain may have been a concern for many venues on Saturday, but the FG stayed dry and Penal Party Angel gave Threshold their first of what is sure to be many stakes victories in ’24, taking the Wright Memorial by what is listed as a length, but surely looked to be more than that.  The six-year-old mare sat behind the early pace in a perfect position for her late kick, fanning out widest for the drive to avoid any traffic, then used that late turn of foot to move past them with ease, stopping the clock at 1:09.74 for the six furlongs over the Fast main surface.  Holy Reception had the lead in the lane, but just couldn’t hold off the eventual winner, taking the second spot in front of a dead-heat between Glitter Bright and Jaded Lover, as the stable-mates could not be separated on the wire.   Three lengths covered the field.
