A full field plus one more will line up and try to take down this seven furlongs turf dash up north of the border in Canada. It definitely looks like a tough field of turf sprinters and will probably be a close race at the wife especially with all the entries. Let’s take a look at the field for this race.
1. Caught Asleep (19-7-2-4 $290.440), trained by Maxmillion Farm
Well this horse already has a chance being how his trainer is basically the king of the turf in the game but this horse is also a very nice horse who has been knocking on the door in minor stakes races. He’s quick and it looks like he can have a shot if he can work out the perfect trip from the rail.
2. City Ball Drop (12-3-1-0 $307.000), trained by Pan Farms
Pan the man is the trainer of this horse and will be sending him out to compete with this field. His last two starts haven’t been all that great with two money out of the finishes on the turf going over a route of ground. Cutting back to the sprinting distance will help him quite a bit I think.
3. Quarter King (7-3-1-2 $82.320), trained by Gdp Inc
The second most lightly race horse in the field he has only had seven starts in his short career and five of them have come this year already. He looks a little outclassed looking at the form but if he runs his eyeballs out he will have a shot to win or at least pick up some of the pieces in here.
4. Sweeps (3-2-0-0 $35.920), trained by Drabfantasy
After his first career race he was given an almost two year layoff but came off if that with two very good wins on the mud and turf. He won by five lengths and each of those races but I’m not sure how good the horse is because he is slowly races and has never been tested with this company.
5. Moscow Court (17-5-4-3 $388.420), trained by Mb Stables
I guess Mb Stables isn’t quite sure what to do with this one because he went from five furlong turf sprints to the mile and three eighths Man O War and knew he is back going short in here going seven furlongs. He’s a good but who knows how far or how short he really wants to run and win.
6. Boxter (28-5-11-7 $219.530), trained by Defoe
The old been there done that gelding is coming off of a five length dead heat win in a statebred stakes and then he ran third last out in the Elusive Quality. I definitely think he can win this race if he runs his eyeballs out performance like he did in the statebred stake race and he will be fine in here.
7. Crown National (21-8-5-2 $257.820), trained by Nakamura Stables
This five year old horse is coming into this race off of an allowance win at SA on the downhill turf course last start. It seemed that he liked that turf course pretty well as he won by a length in the end. I think six and a half and seven furlongs may be his distance and I think he may have a shot in here.
8. Truthbetold (16-3-6-3 $237.940), trained by Joseph Racing
One of the most hard knocking horses in the field is this horse here. He has ran in five straight stakes and ran in the top four every time but can’t seem to bust through and win a stake race yet. He us definitely going to be a top contender in this race and will have a good chance to win it for sure.
9. Bella Moon (15-5-2-6 $311.210), trained by Smokey Stover
The runner coming from the barn of Smokey Stover is this horse right here. He won an alliance race two races back and then ran a so so fourth place finish in a other allowance race. I think he can have a shot but he will definitely have to run a monster race if he is going to win it cause it’s a tough field.
10. Mass Effect (13-1-6-5 $129.760), trained by Invicta Group Llc
This is a horse that is still eligible for a non winner of two races lifetime. He just broke his maiden in his last start and won that race by a half of a length. He’s been running good at the maiden special weight level but this is a very big step up in class for him today so not sure how he will handle it.
11. Baie Baie (16-7-3-3 $133.170), trained by Spankys Barn
This New Jersey bred gelding has been getting better over the past couple of races. At one time he lost a ten dollar starter allowance race but he has gotten better. He ran second in an allowance at SA last start so he isn’t a bad horse. He will definitely have to run a huge race to win though.
12. Bridge Art (13-4-3-2 $159.630), trained by Wolfs Den
A recent claim in his last start for twenty five dollars this is a very steep jump up in class for him. He has been working good though and that last win was a nice one on the soft turf at PIM on Preakness weekend. If he can run a giant race he could get a piece of it possibly but he will have to run giant.
Summary
Well a full field is going to be contesting this little seven furlong dash. My pick is going to have to be the Joseph Racing trained Truthbetold. I know he hasn’t been able to bust through with a win in stakes company but I think this race will be his day he can do that. Good luck to everyone in the race.
