Older turf females will be the menu as we look at the Santa Ana Stakes (GIII) a mile and a quarter classic route, over the lush SA lawn.  In my eye, this is a wide-open contest and I’m really kind of scratching my head on which way to go.

It looks like The Card and I agree on the top choice as Reorganize… She won two prior to that Pegasus F&M Turf (GII) race where she closed a late gap to be fifth, only a length back.  I really think this is a horse that is betting for a longer race, and she gets that opportunity today.  This could be a filly to watch in the ’25 season.

I went with Techfluence High as the second pick as she just looks like a horse that is due.  She was third in the Endeavor (GIII) at TAM last out, again, making a late gain.  She has been the beaten favorite in a number of races and hasn’t won since taking the Gamely (GI) at SA in May of last season.  But she does have back class and looks to be regaining some of that old form.  The Card sees the rail horse, Huntee as their second pick.  That one never seems to run a bad race and certainly looks to be a filly looking for more ground to run at.  She did get a bit weary when second in the South Beach at GP, last out, but they sent her on the front end and I’m not sure that’s her preferred way to run.  Look for more of a late kick here, and she should be in the picture.
