Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow… we miss all of that here and we look at the field for the Kennedy Road Stakes (GII) a seven panel test on the mian WO oval. Another race where I’m going to the outside post for my top selections, and I took Buy Low Sell High today. He’s won three of four and was third in his other trip to the gate, all in big purse races. I’d give Queens Commander a shot to get the job done as well, off of that nice graded win over this track in his most recent. He proven to be a handy claim, and I’d look for more good things from this one.
Here’s The Field –
He won the Day Mile (GII) back in May and it’s been a long, tough road since. His last two starts resulted in a last place finish in the O’Brien (GII) at DMR and a nineh in the Ack Ack (GIII) at CD. Obviously, he needs to turn things around.
Claimed for a mere $20.000 and it’s been Kodak moments since… won at SAR vs OptAlw types then took the Vigor over this track last out. Obviously, this is a perfect placement for him, knowing that he’s fond of the surface. I’d look for him to be right in the thick of things today.
Second entrant for this barn and another that is running well right now. He’s been on the board in nine of eleven starts this season, and has back to back wins coming into this one, including the Bold Ruler (GIII) at AQU last out. You have to give him a shot.
Back to back second place finishes in the O’Brien (GII) and the Vosburgh (GII), so we know he’s running big right now. Expect more of the same and I’d expect him to be right there when they hand out checks today.
Claimed for just $16.000 and paid immediate dividends winning (DH) an Alw race at CD. He then had the lead in the lane in the Vanderbilt Hcp (GI) before tiring to be fourth, then threw a dud in the Foego (GI) tiring late in that race. He’s going to need to find some of that old magic and not put on the brakes.
Another that ran big in a couple of races in the summer, but was eighth in the Mint Million (GIII) at KD and only beat one when ninth in the Woodford (GII) at KEE. He comes back to the main track looking for some old form.
Won the Auburn at EMD then bounced back from a tenth in the Vanderbilt (GI) to be third in the Gallant Bob (GII) at PRX in his most recent trip to the gate. His best would put him in the picture and you may get decent odds as well.
Still looking for his first win of the year and his first runner-up effort as well… he was third in the Stephens (GI) and again in the Saranac (GIII) so he has been close in a couple of graded efforts. I still have to look at some others.
Won an Alw race at CD for his only ’22 victory, but was a fast closing fourth in the Vanderbilt (GI) where he finished in front of a few in this race. Still, he was ninth in the Phoenix (GII) at KEE, last out, and that’s just not going to cut it.
Got back on the winning side of things taking the Appreciation Mile at PRX last out, ending a five race winless streak. Can he feed off of that win and get the job done here today?
Purchased off of his maiden win at LAD, and was third at MTH vs. Alw types, then last of six at PID vs. similar, both on a wet surface. I think he will have to turn it around in a big, bad way, to get it done here.
What is it with horses I like catching the outside post? Three wins in four starts since the vet came by to change his outlook on life, and he was third at KEE in the Perryville, where he was closing late in that race. Another like any of those and he should be the one to beat.
