$150.000 2yoF 1 1/16m Turf 119lbs +penalties
Two year old fillies will be going a miles and a sixteenth, trying to push their way up the crowded ladder of greatness, and we look at the field for The Miss Grillo (GII), to be run on the BEL sod this Sunday. I’m looking at Shark Bitten to be a big favorite in this one off of her closing third in the AP Wash Lassie up in Chicago, last out. She broke maiden on the green stuff at DMR prior to that and certainly looks like a horse with a big future. I really feel like you can throw a blanket over a bunch of the others, but I’ll give Daratoga G the slight edge out of that group. She won at today’s distance taking down Alw foes in her first start for the new owners and took that race by three lengths. That was a head-turning run and a repeat makes her tough. Match On A Fire is another that ran big last out just missing in a WO turf stakes, but she’s gotta show she wants to go longer. Opus Void is a big threat off of that MTH stakes where she ran second only two lengths back, and she may be able to improve off of that race.
It’s a tough bunch, but I think you have to key the ten horse on any and all tickets.
