Ultra Competitive Field for The Just A Game

The Just A Game – GI
                          BEL Race 5 1M – Turf
                               Purse $700.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies And Mares

Some of the best turf fillies are going to line up in this race. There is multiple graded stakes winners in this race and is such a competitive race that it’s going to be hard to pick a winner. So many good races on the weekend and this is one of the most competitive by far so let’s take a look at the field.

1. Feel The Thunder (17-6-3-1 $409.770), trained by Mb Stables

This Commanding filly is coming into this race off a second place finish in the grade three Santa Barbara last out. She has the best turf rider in the game and the best trainer in her corner so that will definitely help her out. My only concern is if one mile might be too short for her since she ran so well going a mile and half last time.

2. Mandy Mo (16-9-2-2 $389.120), trained by Angelos Stable

This filly is a very good filly but most of her success has come running on the dirt in sprint races. She ran on the turf last out going a mile and won but that was an allowance race and not a race of this caliber. If her dirt sprints can translate to this turf route she can have a decent chance to win.

3. Killer Angels (20-5-2-4 $518.670), trained by TwinTowers Racing

Second last out in the grade one Gamely puts this filly right in the race with a very good shot. She ran a clunker two back at Keeneland but came back with that strong performance. If she runs back to last out and when she won the Hillsborough three back she can definitely win this race.

4. Dee Vee R Star (13-3-3-3 $104.150), trained by Wolfs Den

Another graded stakes placed filly in her last start she ran second in the grade two Sheepshead Bay going a mile and three eighths. She likes to come from the clouds and sometimes she doesn’t get there in time. If the pace is fast enough and she is on her top game she can win this race bit it’s all going to depend on the pace.

5. Peppermint Miss (14-6-3-4 $241.010), trained by D J C Racing Stables

A recent three hundred and fifty dollar purchase from Allinthegate this filly is another one that is graded stakes placed. She ran third in the Beaugay on a yielding turf course and I don’t think she really liked that type of turf course. She is another one that comes from way back to a quick pace will definitely benefit her.

6. Ghost Runner (21-4-6-1 $1284.800), trained by Sizing Europe Lodge

One of the toughest mares in the race she has earned over twelve hundred dollars in her career. She usually uses her speed to get to the front and it hasn’t worked for her in a while but if she gets lose on the lead she is a very capable winner. She is one of my top picks to win this race.

7. Well Built (14-7-2-2 $1123.360), trained by Smokey Stover

My top pick of the race is this filly right here. She ran second in last year’s Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Turf and has since won a grade three. She didn’t run a jump last out but that was on the soft turf and she did not like that at all. As long as the turf is firm I will have her as my top selection.

8. Pip Kadabra (22-5-7-2 $889.410), trained by Chili King Stables

Another grade one winner this filly is another one of the ones that I am going to have as one of my top picks also. She is a very classy mare and likes to come from way back so a fast pace will benefit her. She can win this race very easily I’d the pace is fast enough and if she is up to the task.

9. Trump Princess (9-4-1-3 $451.960), trained by Winning Link Stables

Another graded stakes winning filly shows just how deep this field really is. She is on her game as she has won two graded stakes races in a row. She is also another that likes to close from way back so a hot early pace will definitely help her out a bunch. She definitely has a good chance to win.

10. Take Faith (10-3-4-1 $339.550), trained by Night Rider Stables

Once again we come to a grade one winner in this field. She won the American Oaks as a three year old last year but has been winless since. If she can run back to that race she could have a chance but I think she has a lost step. She has showed some speed in the past and I think she will be close to the front.

Summary

The depth and competiveness in this field is unreal. All ten of them are graded stakes placed in their career and eight of ten are graded stakes winners. Only one has not won a stake in her life but she can still have a chance. My top pick will be Well Built and Ghost Runner right behind her in my picks.
