The tote board has been hot at KEE, so far this fall meet… the First Lady (GI) continued the trend as Versailles, sent off at 7/1 odds took home the big prize, getting under the wire in front by a length and stopping the clock at 1:33.28, for the one-mile sod stakes.  The turf was listed Firm.  Proud Eights was dismissed at 12/1 odds and took the second spot in a bang-bang-bang finished for the minor money.  Hallowed Halls, a 23/1 longshot, was a head back in third, then a nose to post-time favorite Ewa Beach.  Six lengths covered the field.

Versailles is a 4yo gray filly by Loon Lake – Strum, by Niagra, and she was bred by her owner D J C Racing Stables, in NY.  This was her eighth win from twenty starts, and her fourth win of the ’22 season, taking her lifetime earnings to $1,334.120.  Congrats to the Connections

Versailles tracked the early pace 2p, move to 4p for the run down the lane, wore down foes late, won driving.  Proud Eights pressed the pace to the far turn, took over, leading to the final 150-yards, caught, ceded.  Hallowed Halls off a step slow, saving ground through the first turn, moved up mid-way down the backside, evenly late.  Ewa Beach set the pace to the far turn, continued to battle into the lane, evenly late.  I Love Me wide trip, pressing the pace, fanned for the drive, out-kicked.  Fangs Of The Storm even effort, nothing left for the drive.  Shining Moments saved ground to no avail.  Midnight Liquor mid-pack 2p, fanned widest for the drive, nothing further.  Lipsticker was outrun.  Nurses was not a factor.
