When this horse gets on speed there are few tougher horses in training and he needed every ounce of that toughness to prevail by a neck. Some tend to go too quick off the front on an off track but he managed to lead at a reasonable pace saving enough to fight them off in the last furlong. He has had a couple of poor runs by his standards recently so it was good to see him back to his best today.

2nd Berlin The Sidley Stud Husbands P

Was right on the winner for the whole trip and as game as the winner was you would have to say he was equally game and was coming back at Wahpkute Sioux in the last furlong. It is now two to one against him in their meetings and if this exciting race is anything to go by I will be looking forward to their next meeting.

3rd Charming Man Fractious Wilson E J

Closing paid off in the race before as the pace was crazy but this far more sensible pace didn’t favor the running style and this one could only keep on for third a couple off the first two.

4th Gold Vault Fractious Van Dyke D

Ditto with the other stable runner as the two crossed the line pretty much together after gambling on a fast pace.
