Every weekend is a big weekend for Mb Stables, and no reason for this one to be any different.  The big barn takes The Busher at AQU on Saturday as Wander, dismissed at nearly 10/1 odds, moved from worst to first and got home clear by a length in a final time of 1:35³ for the flat mile stakes.  Post time favorite Upstate, owned by Smokey Stover, took the second spot by a half length over Maxmillion Farms Cb Lady, a head better than 30/1 Peppermint Angel in fourth.

Wander is a 3yo bay filly by Coin Flip – Tornado Warning, by On High Alert, and she ws bred in ON by her owner, Mb Stables.  She now shows three wins from nine starts, this being her first stakes score, and she has lifetime earnings of $250.000.

It should be noted that her dam had a fantastic weekend as well, with SA Hcp (GI) winner Tempestuous also coming from the same broodmare.

Wander trailed early saving ground, moved up 3p into the lane, split foes at the furlong marker, pulled away late.  Upstate between foes stalking the pace into the far turn, continued 2p into the lane taking the lead nearing the three-sixteenths marker, narrow lead until headed just inside the final eighth, game effort.  Cb Lady raced mid-pack while using an inside placing, fanned 6p for the drive, best of rest.  Peppermint Angel broke alertly to set the pace 4p to the three-sixteenths marker, headed, evenly to the finish.  Opulence lacked early interest, fanned wide for the drive, passed tiring foes.  Broomstick Storm rated back, fanned widest for the drive, no further push.  Zola pressed the pace to the furlong marker, tied.  Bahrain mid-pack, fanned, tired.  Kaeko mid-pack between foes, tired.  Wicked Ways faltered inside.
