   9  GP    The Mr. Prospector (GIII)

$125.000   7f  Dirt    3yo&Up     120lbs  Older 123lbs    +penalties

Vacation, smacation… we have graded races, and they need to be looked at.  We get a full gate for The Mr. Prospector (GIII), a seven-furlong sprint for the dashing gents, and I think Plan To Wheel will be my top pick in this one.  I know, he hasn’t won since April, but he just missed in the BC Sprint (GI), just a half-length back on that big day.  Another like that, and he should be right there.  I’d give King Pigeon a big look in this one… he looked good winning the GG Hcp (GIII) before that less than thrilling race at AQU in the Cigar (GII), but his best should make him a threat… say a repeat of that third in the O’Brien (GII) at DMR?  Let’s roll with that exacta and see if we can make a buck.

   10  GP    The Sugar Swirl (GIII)

$125.000   6f  Dirt    3yo&Up F&M     120lbs  Older 123lbs    +penalties

Well, the sprinting ladies might as well get a shot, as well, and nine of ’em will be headed to the gate for The Sugar Swirl (GIII), a six-panel dash that looks like a good one.  I’m headed to the outside posts for my top picks, which is always a bad idea, but… I’ll put Rainy Bronze Party on top.  She’s missed the board one time this year winning seven of eleven starts, just missed last out in the ONT Fashion Stakes (GIII), and certainly has the gas to go get the money.  Right next to her is Dialing, another that’s missed the board once winning three of seven starts, and she just missed in the Bessarabian (GII) at WO, having the lead at the top of the lane that afternoon.  Another like that, and we should have a heck of a race.  You can make a case for a few others, but let’s see how we do.
