LionKing Stables’ West Of The Bay used a relentless closing move to wear down the field and take Sunday’s DMR Futurity (GI)  by a half-length, as the summer session comes to a close.  The 2yo lit the tote board as he was dismissed by the public at 39/1 odds and stopped the clock in 1:22.07 for the seven furlongs.  Gold Vault, from the Fractious barn, gave his all in a runner-up effort, and was another outsider at 11/1.  Bold Zionist, sent off at 7/1, just missed that spot, settling for third, just a nose back.  It was another quarter length to Beetlejuice, another 23/1 outsider, in fourth.  Only four lengths covered the twelve-horse field in this hotly contested stakes.
