As the horses entered the starting gate today for the Taylor Stakes at WO the weather was perfect and the track came back firm. As the gates swung open all the horses got out well but Onorata Rodiana decided she wanted to take the lead early on and led 2 furlongs in. Whiskey Wings was sitting in 2^nd place on the outside and Hilarity Ensues was sitting in third. Four furlongs into the race the top 3 in the running order did not change at all with the opening half mile run in 47 and 2. The first ¾ of a mile was completed and there was still no change in the top 3 of the running order but Hilarity Ensues appeared that she was done and was fading a bit. After a mile had been completed in the race the scenario changed. Whiskey Wings had made her move and had powered to the lead, Onorata Rodiana had thrown in the towel and was falling back but was still in 2^nd and Rock Warrior was on the move from 3^rd however the field had taken closer order and it was going to be a mad dash for the wire. The wire got their just in times for Whiskey Wings who held of the late charge of Rock Warrior who finished 2^nd and Sweet Red who finished 3^rd.
