This is a pretty ballsy move by the owner after claiming this runner for just five dollars and then seeing it run third of six last time. The works are the thing telling them to come here, two sub 1.24 works over this trip suggest she is a lot better than the average form she has shown so far. Gets the ace draw so if ever there was a time for the daughter of Snakie to break through it will be now.
2 Texas Holdem D J C Racing Stables Hernandez R M
You don’t get many more consistent young horses than this one with four seconds and a win from six starts. Her efforts around this trip have been solid without standing out but she deserves a shot and gets a great draw to try and do it from. I think there is some more talent than what we have seen so far it is just whether the trainer has found the key to unlocking it.
3 Lonely Ace Racing Stable Ortiz J L
The winner of three from five this filly took a nice little stakes race last time after being claimed for just $8.50. This seven furlongs should be right u her alley and she has the great advantage of being hard fit with her stakes win coming just over two weeks ago. Gets a great draw after a few tricky ones and it will be interesting to see what she can do today.
4 Chillie Mendoza Mella Sabella Talamo J
Still a maiden but a stakes placed maiden after she ran second in the Fern Creek. Rater typically these days her works as a maiden are the same as stakes winners so it is hard to assess her against some of these. She hasn’t been finding much at the end of her races and that worries me with these ones that are fast in the mornings but don’t win too much.
5 Reasoning Mb Stables Saez G
She had been eating up and spitting out her rivals in the NY state bred stakes but was made to look pretty ordinary in the Santa Ynez when trailing in eleventh of twelve. If she doesn’t bounce back today we may have to assign her the tag of wet tracker, unless of course it rains today and then we may have to assign her the tag as KYO hopeful.
Her works have been good enough to suggest she can act on a fast track and must be among the favorites if only for the fact she is from Mb Stables.
6 Mystic Rhythm Paradise Stable Albarado R J
She has been Ok without setting the world on fire and looks a bit up against it today, She has looked pretty good on occasions so may be able to sneak some place money especially as her best form is over this trip.
7 The Black Water Arindel Moran D
A consistent daughter of Commanding the Storm she was really gutsy in taking the Glitter Woman last time but that was a short field and she may have to find a length or two in this race. The trainer has been in form so that will bring her support so a win wouldn’t surprise but she wouldn’t be my top choice.
8 Paris Pinnacle Party Mb Stables Davis D
The wide draw is the one thing against this fillies chances because on most other lists she comes out on top. The winner of the grade two Sorrento Stakes she was then third in the grade one DMR Debutante form that is head and shoulders above these. Her works are strong, trainer and jockey are going well so ignoring the draw she looks to be a clear favorite.
9 Perfect Party On Martyparty Gonzalez Ru
Proved she likes this trip with a second in the Golden State Juvenile Fillies she could well be the biggest danger to the filly inside her even though she too has a tough draw. The 1.10 and 3 work says she has trained on and her one big failure came on an off track so can be forgiven if it doesn’t rain here.
10 Where Is Hannah Crocker Ggs Gaffalione T
It seem like the best three horses have the worst three draws as this is another who would be a danger to the favorite given her great form. The winner of three from four including the Letellier Memorial last time she may find it too hard to find her position from this draw but if luck shines on her she could be a danger.
SUMMARY
An interesting race because it looks like a handicap with the best three runners being handicapped by a wide draws. I would imagine Paris Pinnacle Party would be good enough with Perfect Party On a danger if she copes with the draw. Of those bottom weights or inside draws i would say Lonely could be a danger.
