1 Profoundly Pretty Asgar Corrales G

Whilst the colts and gelding race looks like a normal ungraded stakes race this one looks poor like a claiming championship race as most of these fillies and mares fit very much into that mold. This one fits into that catagorey, six races this year without a win she is a strong worker but has yet to put that into her races. The draw should allow her a decent run just behind the speed and if she can run to her works she will be right in it.

2 Victory General Spankys Barn Gaffalione T

She was pretty poor last time but that was her first run for a while so she may have needed it. Previously she had been OK and gets the weight allowance and a great draw so that brings her up in the estimations.

3 Captivating Mb Stables Saez L

Very nearly won a stakes race last time and had previously won an open allowance at LAD very easily giving her probably the best recent form in this field. A winner of four from six this year it looks like the champion trainer has a very strong chance here.

4 Notorious Jenn Asgar Talamo J

Gets lumped with a penalty but probably deserves it on the balance of her form and would be a great chance even with the extra burden. She dead heated for second in the Noble Damsel last time at grade three so carries the best form into this race but may find this trip right at the end of her stamina and will need to be held up for a late run to see it through.

5 Scarlet Years Alydar Stables Velazquez J R

The six year old is having a good year and has been very consistent winning three and placing top three in all her nine races. I like that sort of form in an older horse and she may just be my pick if she can find a run.

6 Crack Bound Gdp Inc Murrill M

She has been poor in routes up to now and has been sprinting for most of her career but there was a marked improvement in her recent work and that always makes my HRP radar start bleeping. She will be a long shot for sure but i have a sneaking suspicion that we will see a much improved effort today.

7 Flesh And Blood Night Rider Stables Leparoux J R

The claiming king gets the outside draw but this is a mare that could just give the stable a win. Lightly raced this year she has yet to win but has shown enough to give her a sneaky chance at what may be rewarding odds.

SUMMARY

Mb’s runner looks strong here but this is an interesting race as the best horse may have too much weight and the worst one has some strong works. I think i will end up going for Scarlet Years to upset Captivating but i wouldn’t be putting my house on it.
