Who Will Be Walking the Red Carpet at DMR?

Red Carpet Stakes – Grade III
DMR Race #4 1 3/8m Turf Graded Stake
Purse $100.000 For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward.

1 Reaper Lightning Alydar Stables Gutierrez Mario 121 —

A very successful three-year-old bought from Fractious Stable for $400.000 and looking well placed here. On the speed throughout she was very brave in finishing a close second in the First Lady last time out finishing ahead of Painville the BC Fillies and Mares champion. A grade two winner, so well placed in a grade three, she should be right there at the finish.

2 Cmonyalll Jediminds Stable Smith M E 124 —

A five-year-old daughter of Commanding she has been there done that and has already won at this level this year so must be a good chance. Bought at auction from Arindel for $312.270 she has been asked to run nearer the pace in her two starts for the new owner after running as more of a closer for Arindel but was a bit disappointing last time, so I am thinking she will be ridden more conservatively today. A chance at her best for sure.

3 Lousiana Woo Invicta Group Llc Rispoli U 124 —

A consistent sort at this level and probably deserves a win. A good second in the Goldikova last time but she looks the sort that lacks a power finish and may be only a place chance here in a good field.

4 Always Condottieri Maletto Alvarado F T 124 —

A little bit of a force of the past, but she has shown she still has the ability to win a race like this. She has been over all sorts of trips this season which usually means the training group are looking to find some of the old magic. Undoubted ability, but she will have to turn back the clock to win.

5 Voltaire Threshold Spencer J P 124 —

Consistent filly, but she has come up short in black type and looks for her first stakes win of the year here. A strong second in a substandard Flower Bowl last time she is a trifecta must in this field.

6 Turning Red Crocker Ggs Buick W T 124 —

Another that has shown ability at this level, she comes back to turf for this where she showed some good form when winning the Sand Springs on her first attempt on the grass. Working strongly, she could be the dark horse in this field.

7 Smushing Laga Lagastable Valdivia J Jr 124 —

A solid sort in lower grade, she has been turning in good speed figures, so this level looks within her scope. I think this trip is right up her alley and she could be a good each way chance at rewarding odds.

8 Techfluence High The Sidley Stud Moore R L 124 —

A grade one winner this year that disappointed in the BC she is certainly a big winning chance if getting back to the form that saw her win the Gamely in May.

9 Dancin Ruler TwinTowersRacing Espinoza V 121 —

Improved to win her last two but is an unknown quantity at this level.

SUMMARY

A difficult race to call but on paper, it may be an opportunity for Alydar Stables to get some of the $400.000 back that they paid for Reaper Lightening. There are a few here that at their best could win but the safe bets for the exotic bets may be Voltaire and Lousiana Woo.
