Who Will Get the Cup and Who Will Get the Saucer at WO?

Cup and Saucer Stakes
WO Race #1 1 1/16m Turf Stake
Purse $250.000 For Two Year Olds Foaled In Canada.

Well, everyone but Asgar and Mo Mentum Farm has put a few cents towards the purse for this as only five go for a supplemented prize. In fairness to the five runners, they are an even bunch and there could well be a good one there so let’s have a look at what these two trainers have given us to bet on:

1 Sincere Difference Asgar Gutierrez Mario 120 —

The first is an unbeaten son of So Sincere that has nicely named being out of Profound Difference.A game maiden win in May on the dirt was followed up by an impressive allowance win at BTP over this trip. He wasn’t fancied in the betting that day but did it very impressively by two lengths albeit against lower quality opposition. I really liked his recent mile work which suggests this unbeaten colt could be improving and with the ace draw could well be winning.

2 Categorical Vow Asgar Lopez P 120 —

Another decent one from the stable he went from sixth at the free track to second in a $200.000 stakes race last time so make of that form what you will. This is his first start on the turf, but he has worked a 58 and 1 on the surface so it shouldn’t be a problem. I think he will appreciate the trip and is also nicely drawn to run a big race.

3 Sonic Boom Mo Mentum Farm Conner T 120 —

Made all to win his maiden last time on a first start on turf and looking at his works the further he goes the better he will be. A son of Fairfield Road there isn’t much to judge him on his form so far, but I think he will be a good sort in these State bred contests.

4 Spread The Word Asgar Lezcano J 120 —

Won his maiden at WO and then went to the free track to win an allowance, not the direction they normally go in, but it will have given him some experience. This is his first start on the grass, but he has worked OK on the surface and is another that looks like he will improve over this trip.

5 Dramatic Mo Mentum Farm Velazquez J R 120 —

Possibly the number one from the stable, he won his maiden over seven furlongs on the turf last time so is well suited by this trip and gets the assistance of the AI named J R Velazquez. Again, it is tough to weigh up what he has done on the track but his works over six furlongs and his last start suggest he will improve the further he goes.

SUMMARY

Dramatic may be the best from one stable and Sincere Difference from the other so we will go for those two and box the Exacta. This is a race that could see a horse improve for the trip so I wouldn’t be writing off any of them. Good luck to the two stables for who gets the bragging rights.
