Purse $100.000 For Four Year Olds And Upward Foaled In NY.
These races may look pretty innocuous but they are worth taking note of as the three’s turn four and race the olders on equal terms. Have they been given enough of a boost to compete where just a month ago as three year olds they were struggling whilst in receipt of weight? Even more interesting here is a four year old filly taking on the boys, now bearing in mind the same that a few weeks ago she was three and getting even more than the 5Lbs she gets here the result of this may tell us far more than who is the best horse in the race.

1 The Bounder The Sidley Stud Ortiz J L
Drawn the ace which will help the son of Ginger Haggis he was winless as a three year old last year and that fact doesn’t inspire confidence. He did run some good races in defeat however most notably when third in the NY Stallion Series – Thunder Rumble last time out. There is clearly ability there but he has proved hard to win with.
2 Day Of Black Night Rider Stables McCarthy T
Touted as a BC prospect after an allowance win and a fast work he has been pretty disappointing in his last two when taking on better company. Drawn in the best spot possible today he clearly can run very fast but he seems the type that has to have everything go his way. If that happens today and the draw will help he could win.
3 Court Battle Angelos Stable Lezcano J
This consistent filly takes on the boys here and she must get respect. I am not sure the fillies and mares have the same chances as they do in real life here at HRP so i rarely tip them in this type of race but a win wouldn’t be a surprise. Drawn well the weight factor brings here into the reckoning.
4 Veep Gdp Inc Cancel E
Only raced twice last year and as such is hard to get a line on. Won an allowance at ELP in one of those starts and is clearly quick but will need to show improvement to be a factor.
5 Hidden Scroll Angelos Stable Franco M
Another rocket on the gallops this eleven race winner has been rarely tested at this level. He certainly reached a crest in his improvement curve last year and if he can prove he has the class gene today he will be very hard to beat despite a sticky draw.
6 Dollar Collector Family Racing Worrie A S
Gets the outside draw but is a real solid and honest type and will make his presence felt. His works are pretty good and was improved last year so if the race engine is kind to him he could well be in it at the end.
SUMMARY
Well with my tip withdrawn we are left to choose between the two fast workers. I think Hidden Scroll may have the edge over Day Of Black and Dollar Collector.
