Purse $125.000 For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward Foaled In NY.
1 Vertigineux, trained by DJC Racing Stables This is one of those three year olds that turn up late in the season and find rapid improvement from nowhere. Well, that is probably the trainers hope as history has a habit of repeating itself here at HRP. A winner of five races she hasn’t really set the world alight and with 3 of those wins being in route races you have to ask yourself why she is running this trip. On paper I cant see her winning but you can never say never with three year olds at this time of year. 2 El Gran Cuffed, trained by DJC Racing Stables With this runner looking far superior to her stable mate you have to wonder whether we will be seeing a pacemaker from the one gate and this one finishing over the top late. A stakes winner she ran well enough in the Pires to suggest she could do exactly that today. 3 Isabeli, trained by Night Mare Racing A winner of four from nine her only forays into stakes company have seen pretty average efforts so she may again struggle to step up to the grade today. Her last two races have shown improvement though and we all know that three year olds can rapidly improve at this time of year so you cant write her off on past efforts alone. 4 Set In Her Ways, trained by Mb Stables A winner of two from three she is pretty inexperienced for a race like this but she hails from a stable that has hundreds just like her and most of those manage a stakes win at some stage in their career. Her two wins have come in lesser company but her works are pretty good so if you are a supporter of the champion trainer and feel that she can carry on her improvement then she has as good chance as any. 5 The Generals Out, trained by Hambletonian Stable She almost made it three stakes win in a row last time out when failing by a head in the Ticonderoga. Because of her three stakes wins this season she has to carry a fair bit of weight today but she has overcome the burden before so its not beyond her to do it again. She has plenty o heart and is consistency personified so s long as the draw and the weight don’t pull her down she is the logical choice to win today. 6 Love Me Do, trained by Maverick Racing Her running style suggests this trip may be a little short but she is undoubtedly the class horse in the race. Third in the grade one Mother Goose and a close second in the CCA Oaks set her a class apart from her rivals with the only question being the trip and the draw. If she is taken back she may finish too late for the win and if she is thrown into the lead she may not have the kick to see off the sprinters so it may all be down to where she ends up in transit. Stalk or close midpack and she wins, anywhere else she may struggle. SUMMARY Love Me Do is the clear pick on class and ability but the draw and trip may be enough to put you off her. If the RE beats her then El Gran Cuffed or The Generals Out may take advantage. |
