Will it Be the Nak Factor or the Hack factor in ONT Colleen Stakes?

ONT Colleen Stakes – Grade III
WO Race #2 1m Turf Graded Stake
Purse $125.000 For Fillies Three Years Old.

1 Call Sarah First Street Stables Husbands

Just the five starts but since her debut run she has indicated both ability and improvement and gets a nice draw if she can hold the wide gates and stay up on pace without too much speed. Her all the way win in allowance company over this course and distance last time was very nice and the 1.33 she covered the race in was good too so there is no reason to think she wont give this a shake.

2 Notorious Crown Mb Stables Contreras L

Good works, the perfect draw, stakes form and Mb Stables pulling the strings she must go down as a chance before you even look at her form. Six of her seven starts have been in sprints but her single run over a longer trip resulted in a win so i don’t think the mile will be a problem. I am not sure her form over all would be as good as some others but that wont mean much to the race engine.

3 Deep Atonement Nakamura Stables Ryan S

The winner of four of her six starts this year she was trucking along nicely until she went 10 furlongs in the Dance Smartly last time and her stamina along with the wide gate speed push was just too much to beat and she ended up fifth. Bearing in mind that was at grade two level though so she has a right to be a strong chance in this.

4 Amagasaki Williams9 Moran D

The winner of two free track claimers before running second over this course and distance she may not be as classy as some of these but her works times and that last start give her every right to run a race here.

5 Full Of Heart Arindel Bahen S R

A consistent performer she may not carry some of the form of her rivals but the way she won an allowance last time out she may just be a dark filly as she tackles a route trip for the first time. If she can see the trip out and get some favors from the race engine she could be a danger.

6 Run Fitchew Night Rider Stables Wilson E J

Looks for the HRP hack with a first turf start she has performed well enough on the dirt to suggest that this may be a successful debut on the grass. Placed twice in stakes company after winning the Paxson Memorial she hasn’t run badly since but does look like she needs a change of scenery.

7 Twizt And Shout Whitewater Stables Kimura K

Finally broke her maiden with a strong front running victory and then followed up with a game run in the Tepin when second. The wide gate needs to work for her to win but if she gets a soft lead she may be hard to peg back.

SUMMARY

Deep Atonement back in trip today may be the answer in this tricky race, the two inside her will make her work though and i am always worried about the HRP anomaly of a first run on turf and therefore would have to include Run Fitchew.
