2 RUI Mountain Top Futurity
$150.000 2yo Foaled In NM 6f Dirt 120lbs +penalties
Sunday in NM and we look at a group of ten locally-bred youngsters set to go six panels in the Mountain Top Futurity. Mb took the top three spots in that SRP stakes and loads them all in the gate today… but I’m looking outside of the box and took Chilly Chill as my top pick… he looked good taking out MSW at SA, so I think the class factor could play in his favor. You have to give Mb a hard look with that trio and i’ll go to the rail and take Moment Of Man since he won the race. Any of those could be tough.
Here’s The FIeld –
Looked good breaking maiden vs. similar at SRP taking the Kendrick Memorial by a head. The big barn doesn’t mess around and this one looks like a runner so give him a big look in this race.
Got the job done in his third trip to the gate, taking down MSW company at LAD showing good speed throughout in that one. He seems to be improving with each start, so I wouldn’t rule him out of this one.
Another from the Mb band and this one just missed in NM-bred stakes company, just a head back of his stable-mate. Can he turn the tables today and get his first win? I think you have to give him a big look in this group.
Third in his debut at FP, but this is an obvious step up from any way you look at it. Still, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the middle of things… you just never know in these baby races, especially here in NM.
He’s run big in both starts and got the job done at SRP last out, beating NM-bred MSW types as the post time favorite. This is an obvious spot for this one and he’s certainly a horse to watch. I like his style and he’s a threat.
This filly is still looking for her first win and drops in with the boys trying to use the weight as her advantage. I don’t see it, but I’m always wrong in baby races and when the fillies come a knockin’ so…
I’ve always been told Safety Third, but… he looked good getting the job done over this track taking out NM-bred MSW showing good speed througout in that win. He looks like a horse that knows how, so don’t ignore him.
Broke maiden at first asking then was third beaten a length in that NM-bred stakes, so he’s certainly a horse that could make some noise today. He closed well to be a length back and certainly makes for a strong 1-2-3 Mb trio.
I like him… he looked good taking down MSW types at SA and has been waiting to make his second start… solid works, and he looks like he could be any types. He will get my $2
She broke maiden in Philly then was fifth in that NM-bred stakes, getting left in the gate that afternoon. If she gets a better break here, he could be trouble… add in a little more real estate and the weight advantage. This could spell win.
