1      Rudy Is With Me        Mb Stables         Gaffalione T

This gelding did pretty well as a two year old, most notably when second in the Hopeful and a fairly handy sixth in the Champagne but was a little disappointing on seasonal debut in The Pasco. Bought by Mb Stables after that run he was then taken way down the levels to steal a win in a small TAM allowance and on those two efforts may be up against it here. Ignoring the form he is working like a stakes winner, gets a great draw for this trip and is trained by the magic man himself so that may well be worth more than his form figures.

2         Sweep The Soviet       Arindel         Bridgmohan S X

The winner of only one from ten he has run well in some good races but has looked a bit like one of those that lacks the turn of foot to win at higher level. A good fourth in the San Vicente last time he must be respected from the stable and in the perfect gate but he is by no means a shoe in.

3        Dellas Boy        Alydar Stables         Albarado R J

Finally broke his maiden on his sixth attempt and that was over a mile and sixteenth so it is hard to get a line on this gelding. The works are pretty good so it may be just a case of having broke the dam the wins keep coming but it is hard to be confident about that.

4       Perfect Mambo          Nakamura Stables        Leparoux J R

Won a maiden claimer at TAM and then stepped up to win an allowance at the same track and whilst two wins from three starts looks pretty neat he hasn’t really given notice yet that this is his level. Clearly improving the stable knows how to win and wouldn’t be here without a chance.

5       Lynch           South Beach Racing        Jaramillo E

Made all to win his maiden at the third time of asking over this course and distance last time and that winning time would give him a decent chance here. Like a good few here it is hard to get a line on him but i wouldn’t be ruling him out.

6      Explosive Ruler       Titania Farm          Saez L

It takes a good one to win three in a row and although this ones last win was in a little fair level stakes race he does look like a decent sort. I think he may have to step up to beat a couple of these but he is more tan capable of that.

7      Binnington       Royalty Stables     Lopez P

A real consistent sort at lower level he nearly made all from a wide gate last time at allowance level and that may be his best chance again today. Of course the luck of the race engine will have to be with him but if it is he looks like a decent top three chance.

8      Harry Toddler      Winning Link Stables         Castellano J J

Things looked to be going well for this debut winner when he nearly followed up at stakes level but his two efforts since then haven’t really backed that up. Badly treated by the draw he will need some luck in running but his recent work time says he is capable if things go his way.

SUMMARY

Not the best stakes race i have ever covered it does look like Mb Stables may have found a soft race to get some of the money back that he paid out for Rudy Is With Me. I would give a chance to pretty much everything else but would expect Sweep The Soviet and Binnington to give him the toughest race.
