1 Fight The Good Fight TwinTowersRacing Alvarado J 124 —

It’s tough to put this one in other than his trainer has a habit of proving me wrong, the thing he has going for him here is a good win over this trip at DMR in an optional Claimer. That proved he could sprint this trip but because he has been all over the place in trips and surfaces it is hard to weigh him up in this field. I certainly wouldn’t write him off but there are better options on paper at least.

2 Electric G Ace Racing Stable Castellano J J 124 —

Another one that has some consistent form in overnights but hard to place in this grade. His turf form is limited but the stats say he can handle it but the interesting thing here is that his works far outweigh his racecourse performance. Coming here very fit with two starts already he could just be the blow out if he runs to his works.

3 Best Ever Night Rider Stables Stein J 124 —

Developing into a quality sprinter he won the BEL Turf Sprint last year and ended the season with a very close second in the grade two Hernandez Stakes. Both those efforts came on an off track so you would think rain would make him an easy pick, but a dry track brings him back into the pack a little. He beat Last City in the BEL Sprint and again in the Hernandez so the going may be key to him making it three in a row against that one.

4 Last City Lemax Farms Sutherland C 124 —

Ran a fantastic third in the BC Turf Sprint from a wide draw but does have something to find against Best Ever on other parts of his form. A very good turf sprinter he must be high on anyone’s list and has won over this trip when taking the competitive Green Flash Handicap last year.

5 Ziggy Stardust RNP Stables Ruiz Jo 124 —

Bought at auction from Mb Stables and has struggled a little to settle into his new home. A progressive sort over a variety of trips and surfaces if the new owner has settled him in he could be the dark horse in the race.

6 Cover Photo Axeman Bridgmohan S X 124 —

A prolific winner over this trip and at this level he has been handicapped with a wide draw but that doesn’t seem such a big impost with the new engine so must start as close to favorite to win this. He has won seven of his last eight races including three at stakes level and has only missed the top three twice in his career. A win here would set him up to becoming a live BC chance.

SUMMARY

On form this looks between three horses, Cover Photo, Last City and Best Ever and that may indeed be the order they finish in.
