1 Shatter, trained by Double J Stables
A nice maiden winner at WO he failed miserably in the mud in the Tremont at BEL finishing well behind. He certainly deserves a second chance today with that good maiden win and some strong works.
2 Astral Projection, trained by Oliver Klozov
Two from two, it doesn’t get much better than that and this gelding looks a good prospect. A free track debut winner he went on to win a maiden at CD by a game half length. His works are good, maybe not as good as Shatters but certainly in the ball park for this type of race so you have to give him every chance.
3 Crystal Palace, trained by Asgar
This will be an exciting run for this first year trainer and I wish them the best of luck but I can’t see this maiden pulling off a shock win.
4 Laffin Canadian, trained by Serenity Stables
Also a maiden but a very different prospect than Crystal Palace. Bought for eighty dollars he was a close second in a WO maiden after inevitably showing speed from a wide gate he has been working pretty well and whilst a win might be a stretch a place looks a good chance.
5 Atlas Seven, trained by Team 7 Illusions
Another decent maiden he has similar chances to Laffin Canadian but I just feel his works aren’t as sharp.
SUMMARY
I think this may be a race Shatter can win. Second and third will be between Astral Projection and Laffin Canadian with Atlas Seven mopping up fourth.
