Xmas Snow Defies Them in The TAM Stakes

The TAM Stakes – Grade III
1 1/16 Mile Turf Stake Purse $175.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Xmas Snow Maxmillion Farm Centeno D E

Just recently i have noticed many more horses going to the front and lasting home and this was another example of that causing me to speculate a little. Is it that people, as many have said, are all using mid or restraining instructions leaving anything that is on a more forward instruction to get a soft lead? Or maybe its a subtle change somewhere else that is making the lead just a little more of an option after so long in the dark? Whatever it is Maxmillion Farm and Xmas Snow took advantage of it and despite setting pretty strong fractions was still game enough to hold on for the win. I must admit i thought the wide draw and the 2Lb penalty would be enough to stop this horse beating the likes of a BC Mile winner but i was more than wrong on that score and it seems the bookmakers knew just a little bit more than me sending him off the odds on favourite. How could i ever doubt the Turf King Maxmillion Farm who looks to have yet another star turfer to add to his ranks.

2nd Green Rush Pennsville Farm Gallardo A A

Stalking the lead this five year old really stuck on well to be a close second running the best race of his career so far. His works look a little inconsistent but he looks to be good enough for this sort of race and one probably feels that a win isnt far away if he sticks to this surface and trip.

3rd Decision In Five Nakamura Stables Lynch F

The leading trio had this race from the gate and this one kept on for third in a decent effort. He had beaten Xmas Snow in the Hill Prince last year just another example of how impossible form is to read here at HRP as that horse started odds on and this fella went off at over 20/1. A solid effort for the four year old who will get a race like this soon enough.

4th Id Rather Go Blind TwinTowersRacing Ortiz I Jr

The winner of the closers race on a day when pace was king he finished well enough to suggest his win drought will come to an end soon.
