Three Year Olds and Up NY Breds

A field of six Nee York bred routers has been entered for the running of this years Commentator over this huge Belmont oval. It is a one turn mile so horses with experience with that will have a little bit of an advantage possibly. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Di Atoni (8-2-1-3 $102.840), trained by Gdp Inc

The first runner in the field right here is a three year old that will be facing older runners for the first time in his career. In his last start he was ninth in the grade two BG Stakes at Keeneland. He did not run a terrible race that day and this is a step down in class so he may have a shot.

2. Peppermint Force (9-4-0-0 $218.500), trained by Allinthegate

Also a three year old facing older for the first time right here and he also is coming out of the grade two BG Stakes at Keeneland. He ran a whole lot better though as he finished fourth in there. If he repeats that performance he will have a pretty good chance in here I think.

3. Singapore (8-3-0-1 $114.240), trained by Mb Stables

The first of two Mb Stables runners right here is also a three year old and he is coming into this spot off of two wins in a row. He beat an optional claimer group at Churchill last time by three lengths in the slop. That was a big race from him and he is in good form so I think he will have a good shot.

4. Unfold (6-1-1-2 $111.000), trained by Mb Stables

The other Mb Stables right here and this looks to be his lesser one of the two on paper. He is entering this spot off of a bad run in the Day Mile but it appears that he definitely did not handle the sloppy surface. I still don’t think he has much of a chance regardless of the track conditions.

5. Curveball (22-7-6-4 $426.870), trained by Luz International

The only older horse in the field right here and he is coming into this one off of a fifth place finish in the grade three Texas Mile. He didn’t show up that day but he did run good two back in a grade three. I think he is going to be very tough to beat even with the weigh disadvantage.

6. For The Boys (12-3-1-4 $121.840), trained by D J C Racing Stables

And the final runner in the field right here and he is coming into this race off of an eleventh place finish in the Day Mile at Churchill. He also did not like the slop that day but even before that he ran thirteenth in the BG Stakes. I don’t really see him having much of a chance.

Summary

Well it is five three year olds against one older horse and I’m going to go with the lone older horse Curveball. I think he is just more seasoned than these and I think he will throw a big race out there against these ones. Good luck to all in the field.
