The Johnson
1 1/16 Mile InTurf Stake Purse $200.00 Fillies Two-Year-Olds. At SAR
The Johnson features a brief collection of only six juvenile fillies to contest 1 1/16 miles of traditional sod at Saratoga. The race looks to belong to the only stakes winner to show up in the entry box. Its Yesterdays won a six-furlong version of this race but has works to prove she can stretch out. It looks like main competition will come from two-time winner deep closer Composure Saratoga winner Little Warrior Miss.
Here’s the handicap:
Horse Owner Odds SRF
Its Yesterdays Blazin D *7-5 94
Little Warrior Miss Calia Stable 5-1 85
Composure Mb Stables 2-1 87
Goodfire Pink La Canada Racehorses 6-1 89
Ideal Lucy D J C Racing Stables 8-1 85
Pink Wine Night Rider Stables 10-1 88
1 Pink Wine Night Rider Stables 88
Pink Wine broke her maiden in a ELP maiden claimer for Hawaiian Shirt Guy who lost her to Night Rider Stables for $14.00. That race was a dirt sprint and there are no public turf works to look at.
2 Composure Mb Stables 87
Undefeated Composure won at first asking at SA, an impressive feat, although with a small field in April and came back in August to win an optional claimer at FE in startling deep closer fashion. Her works match those of the favourite.
3 Ideal Lucy D J C Racing Stables 85
Ideal Lucy placed second in her debut in a FE maiden sprint. When she stretched to today’s distance, she won a BTP maiden by two lengths. Caveat here is the win was BTP and her works are not impressive.
4 Little Warrior Miss Calia Stable 85
A slight longshot here as my second choice, Little Warrior Miss just won a well-attended big-ticket maiden locally by a wide margin. I was impressed. Her works could be better.
5 Goodfire Pink La Canada Racehorses 89
Goodfire Pink broke her maiden in a MTH sprint and has works that indicate she will stretch out with no problem.
6 Its Yesterdays Blazin D 94
Although Its Yesterdays’ races have all been sprints, her works say she will stretch out just fine. She’s been winning and losing with impressive SRF numbers and was closing well in The Grade III Adirondack locally. Just before that she was here to win The $200.00 Schuylerville. So, with only the question of the distance, she sees a standout here.
