Cheveley Chateau prepped for this race with a victory in the $75.00 Buckeye Native at BTP. With only three recent turf races to consider, he also finished a close third in the $100.00 Gendelman Memorial Stakes at BTP.

Since being acquired from Riggins Racing for $25.00, Virtual Handyman has been tough to beat with a victory in the $175.00 Unusual Heat Turf Classic at SA, followed by back-to-back seconds in the $110.00 Turf Classic at TAM and the $100.00 Crystal Water Stakes at SA topped off by a win in a prep overnighter at DMR.

After winning the marathon $225.00 Chorleywood Stakes at CD, Scorched failed at the next two Grade II marathons resulting in being shortened to this race which should not be a problem since he won a 1 1/8 mile overnighter the race before the Chorleywood.

Afte x on the dirt, Shake It Up And Go tried the marathon Grade II United Nations Stakes at MTH and at over 200-1 ran third on the turf. This in spite of a win in the $200.00 Marathon at CD on the dirt the race before.

Coming up to this race, Dirtiest Sin scored a double starting with a victory in the $125.00 MTH Stakes followed by a three-length whopper in a starter allowance at LAD and then finished third in the Grade III Singspiel Stakes at WO.                                                                        

8   The Golden Age                   Mb Stables             94

The Golden Age was a dirt horse until four races ago winning races the likes of the Grade I SA Derby. Then he was tested at SA in a mile turf overnighter where he finished second, beaten only a nose and followed that up with a pair of wins on the grass before trying the Grade I Clement Turf where he ran up the track.

Grand Opening was acquired from Riggins Racing for $20.00 after a win in the Grade III TAM Stakes followed by two allowance wins and an allowance place and a three-month lay-off. Upon his return to racing, he was made favourite in the Grade III Singspiel Stakes at WO but ran up the track. Now, perhaps he just needed the race after the layoff or time is up for the seven-year-old.

After sharing a win in the Grade I BC Mile, Moonligtonthewabash seems to be shopping around at every distance at which turf races are run and only getting a couple of thirds in 6 1/2 furlong Graded stakes races, the Grade II Hernandez Stakes at SA and the Grade III Daytona Stakes at SA.
