Myrtlewood
6 Furlongs Stake Purse $300.00 Fillies Three-Year-Olds. At KEE
Myrtlewood, is a surprisingly tight race despite the vast difference between past performances. It looks like the main contenders are Phantom Protocol and Smooth Criminal with Shut Yer Gob as a mild upset in third.
Here’s the Myrtlewood handicap:
Horse Owner Odds SRF
Phantom Protocol Serenity Stables *7-5 94
Smooth Criminal D J C Racing Stables 8-5 90
Shut Yer Gob TwinTowersRacing 5-1 89
Queen Rain Caseys Llc 3-1 89
The Pursuit Mb Stables 6-1 90
Fiamminga Bella Nakamura Stables 10-1
1 Smooth Criminal D J C Racing Stables 90
Smooth Criminal ran an excellent second in an eight-horse maiden at LAD for her debut and followed it up with a romping three-length victory in another eight-horse maiden at FL. She then finished third beaten only a half-length in the $100.00 Lady Finger Stakes. She looks like a big chance.
2 Fiamminga Bella Nakamura Stables
Fiamminga Bella is an undefeated turf runner from MNR which won her debut by an easy three lengths. Her works, stable and jockey make her a threat.
3 Queen Rain Caseys Llc 89
Queen Rain won at second asking after placing second in her debut. She was then sold by T Boy Racing for $50.00 and her new connections immediately picked up another win in an ALB allowance. After a one-length loss in the Grade I DMR Debutante, she won again, this time a pricey BEL allowance. So, that’s three wins out of five starts. Someone not to be toyed with.
4 The Pursuit Mb Stables 90
The Pursuit, a pre-race auction buy from Aml Racing for $13.00, it took her three races to get a handy win at PRX. Sharp works.
5 Phantom Protocol Serenity Stables 94
Phantom Protocol brings the most experience and success to the starting gate with back-to-back SRF 94’s; although one of the came in a losing effort, the other was the result of a victory in the $150.00 Fillies Overnight Stakes at WO. Purchased after her one-length loss in the Grade I DMR Debutante from Aer Stables for $400.00, she represents a considerable leap of faith for Serenity Stables starting with this race, but this favouritism bodes well with the investment.
6 Shut Yer Gob TwinTowersRacing 89
Shut Yer Gob took three races to win, but her trainer was testing her for different distances and hadn’t even finished testing adds, plus stepping her up each race until her win came at BEL. She held together for that regimen; she’ll be dangerous here.
