BC Mile – Grade I
1 Mile Turf Stake Purse $2,000.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.
1st Ingrained, trained by Mb Stables
The remarkable day continued for Mb Stables as this gelding, another by the sire Decima, stormed home for a decisive one length win. Beaten a long way in the Breeders Stakes but better when second in the Shadwell Turf he got the dream trip to come through and win for his first graded stakes win on his own.
2nd Serious Cobra, trained by AER Stables
Ran an amazing race going to the front from his nightmare draw and sticking on really gamely for second. This was a much better effort by the son of King Cobra who read the track perfectly and ran the race of is life so far.
3rd Compress, trained by Cherrytree Hill Farm
After his wide draw in the Shadwell Turf sent him to the front his trainer made sure he was restrained today and boy was he restrained. Going right back his chances looked shot has no horse has come from that far back this week but he flew late to grab third and looked an unlucky loser.
4th Devil Six, trained by Maxmillion Farm
Went onto the pace and looked a winner coming down the stretch but flattened out under pressure, strange when you look at the LRL Turf Cup last time but the track probably had most say today.
The Rest
Far too Cool who beat the winner last time out kept on but didnt have the run of the winner today. Lunar Blaze ran on well late on and did pretty well in the end to get so close, just a length off the winner.
SUMMARY
The form book was looking less and less relevant as Mb Stables got another winner.
