Clockwork Chai Marches on to Horse Of The Year Title

BC Turf – Grade I

1 1/2 Mile Turf Stake Purse $4,000.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st Clockwork Chai, trained by Mb Stables
Running from the 13 box and dropping back to last it looked like this amazing horse who way back in June i called as the BC Turf winner had no chance. But as the race wound on he became the one and only closing winner of a BC race getting to the front and clinging on gamely by a nose. A winner fo seven from eight this year he looks an absolute shoe in for horse of the year.

2nd Midwestern Slang, trained by Oquinn Farm
In the only race that looked to suit closers this one came from behind and was inching in on the winner all the way to the line. As it was he just couldnt get past but in finishing second he rounded off a great season for a relatively new trainer.

3rd War Scent, trained by Our Athletes
You have to ask, what on earth happened in his last two runs! But this six year old managed the race well going back with all the top finishers and running on late for a huge third place at any old odds. A great run by one of the few autogens still around.

4th Techfluence, trained by The Sidley Stud
A bit closer to the pace than the first three he couldnt quicken when the swoopers came and he had to settle for fourth. A great effort but that start just a couple of weeks ago may have taken too much out of him.

The Rest
This was the only race dominated by closers so the fancied horses that went onto the pace had no chance.

SUMMARY
Yet another winner for Mb Stables, who knows what happened last time out for Clockwork Chai but this time once again he was in his best form winning from an impossible draw from an impossible spot. simply breathtaking.
