Every once in a while I get one right…  Class Status got the job done in The Vagrancy Hcp (GIII), winning by a length in a final time of 1:15.08 for the six and a half furlong dirt sprint.  You Just Have 2 Wait was second by two lengths and Fill The Void rounded out the trifecta in this one.

The seven ladies loaded up and got away from the gate with Gingers A Ten showing the way by a length, Think It Through to her inside, then a gap back to Steady Sneaks on the outside of Deliberate Miss, Class status on the rail and just in behind that pair, You Just Have 2 Wait, and Fill The Void was the early trailer.

They made their way down the backside and now midway on the big sweeping turn, Gingers A Ten on the lead by two, Think It Through skimming the rail and giving chase, Steady Sneaks three wide and inching forward, Deliberate Miss on her inside, Fill The Void trying to move up from the far outside, Class Status on the inside and You Just Have 2 Wait between that pair and the back marker.

Into the lane and nearing the furlong pole, we had a horse race on our hands.  Gingers A Ten looking to be done with this one and was now noses with Class Status.  Think It Through moved up the rail and was right there, You Just Have 2 Wait six wide and moving forward, Deliberate Miss, Fill The Void from the far outside and Steady Sneaks was now at the back of the pack, but two lengths covered the field.

Inside the final 150-yard and to the finish, Class Status just pulled away to hit the wire in front and took the victory.  You Just Have 2 Wait finished full of run for the second spot, then Fill The Void down the middle of the track in third, nosing out Deliberate Miss in fourth.  Another half length to the tiring Gingers A Ten in fifth, Steady Sneaks was sixth and Think I Through closed this one out.

Class Status broke in hand, sat off of the pace while unhurried, moved up when asked, drew clear through the lane, won driving. You Just Have 2 Wait trailed to the top of the lane, moved into contention at the furlong maker, could not stay with the winner. Fill The Void sat behind the pace, improved position through the lane while no threat to the top pair. Deliberate Miss tracked the pace, moved put close into the lane, nothing further. Gingers A Ten broker alertly, lead to the top of the lane, tired from those efforts. Steady Sneaks sat just behind the pace for four furlongs, tired. Think It Through shadowed the leader for a half mile, stopped.
