1 OP The Fantasy (GIII) [KYO]
$600.000 3yoF 1 1/16th Dirt 122lbs
Maybe we should stop by Daly’s place since we are in ARK… in the meantime, we look at the field for The Fantasy (GIII) a mile and a sixteenth event for the sophomore fillies here at OP and we get a good looking group for this one and I’m going to the outside post and will give Mycrazyxgirlfriend the nod. I know, shocker… she’s four-for-four and got her first stakes score last out at GP. They had her in at KEE stakes but scratched to come here for a much larger purse and that tells me that the barn likes her… who wouldn’t?? Let’s go right next door and give Naples a big look as well. She won over this track last out when DH’ed with Creepy Crawlies, so you can obviously make a case for either of these.
Here’s the Field –
Three wins from nine starts and she just switched hands via a private purchase, making her first start for this conditioner. She won the Miss Grillo at BEL, was sixth on BC day and has made a good living on the grass. She switches back to the main track, but she broke maiden here, so maybe this is a good transition.
Nice win (DH) over this track last out taking the Honeybee (GIII). She’s another with three wins in nine starts and she seems to like this surface, which can be tough with the tight turns. I think you have to give her a big shot today.
Broke maiden (DH) last out at GP closing well in the late stages of that six furlong event. She could be in favor of the longer distance but may need a bit more seasoning before going after this type of competition.
Broke maiden back in Aug of last year and has had mixed results facing stakes company since. Third in the Golden Rod (GII) and Honeybee (GIII) but was ninth in the Jassamine (GII) and fifth in the Gasparilla so it’s just a matter of which horse we get today.
Broke maiden at GG then won the Glitter Woman at GP… another nice race as the runner-up in the Forward Gal (GIII) then threw a dud last out when eighth in the Honeybee (GIII). Can she bounce back today?
Broke maiden last out in her second start and goes for the gusto taking on this group. That win was at a flat mile, both of her starts were, so it looks like she’s ready to handle the distance without any worry. Give her a look… she could be an up-and-comer.
Another that broke maiden last out, in only her third start and she’s never been worse than third in those maiden races. Won at a mile, going wire to wire at GP against a nice group so she looks like she could be any type and had a nice mile blow-out over this track getting ready for today.
Sold for $750 and the new barn won (DH) a stakes at first asking taking the Honeybee over this surface. This looks like the spot they had picked out when they made the purchase and she certainly is a horse to watch today.
A perfect four-for-four and was scratched out of a KEE stakes to come here for a bigger purse. The big barn doesn’t mess around so if they came here it was to get a chunk of a bigger purse and it’s hard to fault this filly. She’s the one to get past in my eye.

Great write-up, thanks for your efforts. The outside fillies loom large as you’ve said. I loved how fast my entry ran home last out and her latest farm work was the best at the distance for my entire group of three-year-olds. On that basis I felt taking a pot shot at a race like this was in order. Good luck to all!
