A field of eight will be headed to the post this evening as we look at the field for the 2015 Last Tycoon (GIII) going the classic mile and a quarter over the SA lawn. I’m going chalk in this one, taking Dance Charm as my top choice. He closed well over this surface last out at the marathon distance, and traffic may have gotten the best of him. Still, he was only a length from the winner, and I think this is a better spot for him.
Looking for some value, I’ll put Tin Hero in the second spot. I’ve had my eye on this one for a while and I think he has a chance to be a big factor this season. He seems a big confused if he wants to set the pace or be a stalker – I’d like to see him stalk here today and if he does he could be around for a big share of the purse.
Let’s put Copper Clappers in the third spot, just in case the five decides to go to the front. This one has proven ability over the surface and ran a big race to be a close-up third in that San Luis Rey Stakes (GII) over this track. I’d probably be a bit higher on him if not for the post.
