The Inside Information – Grade II
7 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $200.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Zero Twist John Henry Bahen S R
A consistent mare she did her best through her four year old season but like a good few five year olds is now reaping the benefits of age and experience under the new engine and has started this year off like a rocket. Stalking the good pace she comfortably ran away in the final furlong to win by a length and at this stage looks like a really nice sprinter who will go all the way through to the BC.
2nd Precise Performance Mb Stables Gonzalez Ru
You roll the dice and what worked in the Pegasus didn’t work in this race and this mare who had form to beat this field could not hold onto the lead she built up from the gate. The 2020 BC Distaff winner and the 2021 BC Sprint runner up started this year off like she started last year by front running herself to being beaten.
3rd Grand Cyclone Smokey Stover Saez G
Also stalked the lead and looked really dangerous turning for home but found little under the whip to run third. Of course all this form will be turned up side down and sideways by the end of the year so for now it was third place but i am sure she will be a contender through the year.
4th Canary For One Mo Mentum Farm Espinoza V
Started so badly that she was probably instructed to lead and lost the coin toss. Whatever happened she did really well from the wide draw to make ground late on into fourth and this was a promising effort for a filly that was running at a time of year when four year olds are at a slight disadvantage.
